The producer for Tekken 7, Katsuhiro Harada, suggests the Western version of the game may not have swimsuits at launch. He said this in a now deleted tweet.

A fan asked if swimsuits will be in the Western version of Tekken 7 as they are readily available in the Japanese version. In a deleted tweet captured by Crave, Harada replied with: “Ask your country’s SJWs. HAHAHAHAHA.” He got a bit if flak for criticizing SJWs and apologized for it.

He defended the use of swimsuits as he said many of the other characters outside of the females show some skin in Tekken Tag Tournament 2. He said: “Remember, We released swimwear for all characters on TAG2…for Kangaroo, Kuma&Panda, Ogre, ROBOT too! It was very fair. Very very fair.”

It sounds like Bandai Namco doesn’t want to get some negative exposure for being “sexist” in Western countries so Harada is choosing not to release swimsuits at launch. He did tweet out a compromise and suggested swimsuits could be added in later as optional DLC. He posted: “Maybe Optional DLC or something? what do you think?

Do you care if Tekken 7 have swimsuits or not? The game comes out for PC, PS4 and Xbox One sometime in early 2017. The arcade version is out now and many Japanese gamers have collected many swimsuit costumes for the characters already.
