Two of IDDQD's core players surprisingly left the team, who is considered to be the best in the world, mere days before IDDQD's participation in the One Nation of Gamers tournament.
Lucas “Mendokusaii” Håkansson and Kevyn “TviQ” Lindström are no longer part of IDDQD. According to over.gg, TviQ hinted that he will be part of a new team that will be announced soon. It is unclear what Mendokusaii will be doing, although it is probable that he will join TviQ, as the two are close real-life friends.
Over.gg also had a statement from IDDQD, where it is implied that the reason for the leave might have been personal:
“Mendo and TviQ will leave the team, they feel they found another option for them.
We as a team will stay together and will be as strong, if not stronger in the future.
We wish TviQ the best of luck wherever he goes.”
This sudden roster change left IDDQD unable to compete yesterday in King of the Watch Europe #7. Their rivals REUNITED.gg, also one of the best teams in Europe and in the world, easily prevailed against Gringos.
IDDQD will also have to compete with replacements in this weekend's One Nation of Gamers $3000 invitiational, one of the biggest Overwatch tournaments organised so far. According to an announcement on Reddit, the two stand-ins for IDDQD will be Taimou (who might rejoin his former team) and aKm. Moreover, team Impulse11 will replace melty, who will be unable to compete due to personal reasons.
Lastly, on the other side of the ocean, the ESL Community Cap NA #6 will take place tonight as well.
