Following the massive success of DayZ both as a mod and an early access title, the game’s original creator left Bohemia Interactive to form his own studio, RocketWerkz. Since then there have been endless questions about what the developer was working on, and today we finally got a good look with the launch of Out of Ammo. This HTC Vive exclusive title will be released into Steam Early Access today, letting players try out the very interesting new take on the strategy and shooter genres.

You can get a better idea of what the game is by checking out the trailer below. The Steam page describes Out of Ammo as “an intense virtual reality strategy game for the HTC Vive that puts you in the commander’s seat against wave after wave of soldiers. Built exclusively for the HTC Vive to make use of motion tracking, the game allows you to move around the battlefield to build defenses and issue orders. You can even directly possess your units to directly engage the enemy making use of cover and preparing your magazines carefully so you don’t…. run out of ammo!”

This game definitely looks like something completely new for the former DayZ developer. Taking the blocky, old school style of graphics of other indie titles and mixing it with what looks to be some deep shooter and strategy mechanics. If it looks good to you, and you’re one of the few people in the world with an HTC Vive, then it will be available on Steam later today.
